Whether you're working remotely indefinitely or starting to ease back into life at the office, it is essential to find ways to get out of the house and keep your fitness in check. In this Explore Singapore series, we invite you to ride or rent a bicycle from some of our top local bike shops and check out one of our top cycling routes in Singapore for an active weekend excursion.

Changi Airport - Marina Barrage (Round Trip)

With the addition of the new 3.5km Changi Airport Connector, this cycling route adds up to an estimated total of 32.8km for a round trip ride. Bring your own bike or rent from GoCycling at Changi Airport Terminal 2, and begin your journey by cycling past Changi Jurassic Mile, an outdoor display of life-sized dinosaurs.

As you head downwards to East Coast Park, stop by for a hearty lunch at the East Coast Lagoon Food Centre (Lagoon Hawker Centre), which recently reopened on 1 February 2021 after undergoing redecoration works. The well-known hawker centre is home to local delights, such as the delicious Sambal Stingray and satay. Other food options can be found in our Guide to Marine Parade here!

Punggol Waterway Park - Coney Island (Round Trip)

Punggol Waterway Park is built around the section of Punggol Waterway, segmented into four different themes. Start off your cycling journey at Waterway Point or rent bicycles from Bikes @ Waterway, located at Punggol SAFRA nearby. Head downwards to the Punggol Waterway Park and admire the picturesque views of the beautiful greenery and Waterway while you cycle through.

Follow the path down to the famous Lor Halus Red Bridge and continue cycling on left after pushing your bikes across, eventually reaching Coney Island’s east entrance. There are many unpaved cycling trails for you to cycle on the island, so have fun exploring before heading back to civilization!

With numerous attractions all around the island, Sentosa is an undoubted favorite among both Singaporeans and tourists alike. Rent a bike from Gogreen Cycle, pick up a Sentosa map and start your journey by pedaling through the dedicated bicycle trails, from Siloso Beach to Palawan Beach, and finally Tanjong Beach. Enjoy the sea breeze and the lush greenery and stop by the various food and beverage joints if you are famished.
