Explore Singapore: Accela’s Guide To Robertson Quay

With Accela's office in the heart of Chinatown, we are just a stone's throw away from bustling Robertson Quay. Nestled between the CBD, Orchard, and Tiong Bahru, this recently rejuvenated riverside neighbourhood is a dream for both young and old. Here are a few of our favourite places for you to explore.

The Good Beer Company

Located just off the river on Kim Yam Road in the bright and breezy Herencia building is The Good Beer Company's second location. Here you can sample an array of local, regional, and international craft beers on tap or in cans and bottles. For those that don't favour beer, they also offer a variety of wines. The riverside location provides lots of choices for snacks, such as chicken wings from The Real Peranakan or you can snack on Uncle Saba's Poppadom's, which you can purchase from the small grocery. $10 beers are on tap during happy hour every day from opening until 8 pm.

Aklaff Bridge

Well known for its bright colors and perfectly positioned for stunning views of the Singapore River, the Alkaff Bridge is one of the most photographed attractions in Robertson Quay. Designed and painted in 2003, the bridge's artwork is one of the final works of Filipino artist, Pacita Adab. The location and the bridge inspired her and it was one of her last projects before she succumbed to cancer. It was restored in 2019 and is a must-see when visiting the Robertson Quay neighbourhood.

Fort Canning Park

Positioned on a hilltop, Fort Canning Park is a cool escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Home to nine historical gardens, Fort Canning has been an essential part of Singapore's history. It once housed the Far East Command Centre and you can tour the Battle Box, where the British surrendered to the Japanese during WWII. Today, it's a beautiful place in Central Singapore to hike and explore.

Les Bouchons Rive Gauche

“Warm and moorish” is the best way to describe the offering this French restaurant provides its patrons. Casual, riverside vibes perfectly complement simple sets of salad, bread, and steak pomme frites to make up a perfect meal for date night or a post-hike meal after visiting Fort Canning Park. The restaurant offers a wine of the month at affordable prices, and they have a lovely wine list! We highly recommend a glass of champagne to start.

Robertson Quay is easy to access by multiple bus lines or the Fort Canning MRT stop. For cyclists, you can also access Robertson Quay by the Park Connector. If cycling in the morning, you may catch a glimpse of the Zouk otter family as they make their way down the river!
